The Burden of Sisyphus is a sculpture that represents my relationship with the commercialization of my art. This piece reflects how creativity under the pressures of capitalism, fosters an unsustainable dynamic that demands constant production from the artist. The sacrificial bond I have with my work draws from
my own body, chipping away at me with each new project. The Imagery draws on Sisyphus’s eternal curse to push a boulder uphill and the story of Prometheus, who endures daily torment by a bird that tears at their body.
