STRINGS OF FATE

Strings of Fate is a design for the Fall 2023 FAST runway show, Devotion. For this piece I wanted to explore the devotion one has to their family and how attitudes and beliefs are inherited. The threads that connect family creates a bond that influences ones own conciousness. The string is a physical representation of the pressures of

familial expectations and the struggle between connection and forging ones identity. On the runway the models sever this bond  creating a visual contrast between the interconnectedness of family ties and the act of individuating.
