The sculpture, Petri Dish, is inspired by a childhood book about a microbiologist who develops a bacteria capable of breaking down plastic. The design draws from microbial art, a practice that uses the intentional cultivation of bacteria to form intricate designs. In this piece, the bacteria is gradually consuming the trash layered over the mannequin, creating a parallel between humans and the destructive quality of their own creations
